Hi all,

One of my work mates got Compass wireless at home.  She got a wireless router and wants to use it to share the connection to her family.

I need to help her to set it up but the Compass website is not too helpful.  On the website, it mentioned about the NIS (http://www.compass.net.nz/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=194:i-cannot-connect-to-the-internet-via-wireless&catid=63:wireless&Itemid=170).  Now, should her router be setup to use PPPoE with her user name and password, and then plug it into the NIS?  Or the NIS does authentication already so she just need the router to be set to Dynamic / automatic mode (i.e. no need to specify user name and password on the wireless router)?

Thanks!

Hi There,

As jonny99 mentioned, the router will need to do PPPoE we (Compass) have supplied.

The NIA/IDU is just a power over ethernet injector.

Cheers

Thank you all for the advice. This will be my first time using PPPoE in NZ (did use it overseas though). =-)
