Hi All,

I am lucky enough to have a VF UFB connection 100/50.

I was pretty much getting rated speeds through the speedtest website.

Now all off a sudden i am getting 76/3.

I did have a cisco engineer in a remote support session and I think he changed the MTU to 1500 and he might have put a QoS setting in related to voice - I suppose either of these have the potential to cause issues.

Has anyone else had problems recently?

Whats best MTU or leave on Auto?

Cheers

-Al

I'd try a MTU of 1492.
Some ISPs are doing PPPoE (Orcon for sure, Snap, not sure about Voda) in which case the PPPoE encapsulation takes 8 bytes (just like DSL).

Give it a try. A smaller MTU wont do much damage whereas a bigger MTU than it should be will do more damage (slowness) in comparison.

Packet fragmentation is the reason for the slowness if you want to read more.
