A friend got a card in the mail a few days ago saying chorus is undertaking some improvements in his area
They have dug a wide hole in the ground and made some markings on the footpath
UFB is years away
Is this just a standard card they use for improvements and repairs or just improvements?

Approx where does your friend live? Maybe some INFO is on the Chorus site

This is just part of informing the communities we work in what is going on.

This is not normally done in a reactive faults repair job as these jobs are unplanned.  Where we are doing a long-term upgrade or planned maintenance then this process is used.

Our service company contractors will put a card in property-owner's letterbox if there is likely to be some disruption to acces (via footpath, driveway, parking etc).

These cards have an 0800 number printed on them which connects to our contact centre so if somethig goes awry then the residents can contact the team doing the work.

Similar cards are used in streets where we are doing the UFB fibre/ducting reticulation so that residents know whether they have to make alternative parking/access arrangemets while we are working in their street.
