Thought I would update everybody, on the availability of Billion modems in NZ. Our current selection are available through reseller, ascent.co.nz.

Currently we provide BiPAC7700N R2/BiPAC7800NL/BiPAC7800N/BiPAC7402X(3G)/BiPAC7402NX(3G).

Billion is very popular overseas. Would like to see more of these in the NZ market at more sellers, ascent is a good start!

Good to see someone bringing these in. They are popular in Australia.

Generally comparable in price to TP Link stuff, some people say higher quality.

I suggest brining in the BiPAC 8200M VDSL2 Modem.

Probably a fair amount of SME's/geeks who have been using the Zyxel 870H-51A V2 for VDSL2 home/small office connections where they want to bridge to a separate router.  

The Zyxel appears to be out of stock atm.

I bought one about 5 years ago when I was in Australia, they weren't cheap back then (about A$200 I think) and unfortunately it wasn't a positive experience. I experienced constant reboots when using wireless and after sending it back and after being told there was nothing wrong with it, they said it was probably caused by using WPA2 and that I should switch back to WPA - I still have the email from the support ticket with this "solution".

I ended up throwing it in the bin and bought a $50 Buffalo router and put Tomato on it - I only replaced that last year so that I could upgrade to wireless-N.
