I am thinking about getting VDSL2. Currently i have a tp link router connecting to a adsl2+ modem that does half bridge. Can anyone recommend a VDSL2 modem that does half or preferably full bridge?

That's the wireless version, but yes the P870H-51 v2 does a great job for me.

Oops sorry meant the standard model. The wireless model is actually unavailable in NZ now as it's being replaced.

One thing to consider is what ISP you're signing up with, what modem router they offer and how badly you want to keep using the tp-link. I had the same conundrum when signing up for VDSL because I really wanted to keep using my gargoyle tp-link router (and I still miss it!) but in the end the "free" fritzbox on contract from snap was too good to pass up (especially when I factor in an ATA as well for voip + the zyxel)

Yeah I still miss the gargoyle router, but the fritzbox is a great device. (Apparently you can get third party firmware, freetz I think, that allows it to bridge... but I haven't come across anyone with it actually running like that)

The Iskratel Innbox v50u will do half and full bridge modes, incorporates wireless, 2x ATA ports, and 1 bonded Gb Copper/FXP uplink (along with the standard 4x 100Mbps Eth switch).
Seems reasonably reliable for the price and has good local support.

The local re-seller was trying to flog it to us a while back. I gave up in the end as they couldn't be bothered to send a power supply with it, even after asking for it.

Technically it actually looks like a really good box, just let down by the local guys who were more interested in getting the box sent to the next ISP that same week. A few days isn't exactly long enough to trial a new modem, specially when you can't power it on :)

That was a while ago, surely they would have lifted their game by now.

Far be it from me to threaten violence against the supplier, but that is pretty abysmal! Our dealings with them have been good, they deliver promptly, and accommodate our requests for changes (usually same day) to our default config. My experience with them has been positive at any rate. Hit them up again for a test unit I'm sure they will deliver a power supply this time around ;)

VDSL2 isn't based on ATM there's no need to consider half bridging anything.

Yitz, the Innbox is backwards compatible with ADSL2/2+ as well, so half bridge mode is applicable. Also applicable if you only have one public IP you wish to present to the LAN interface of a connected device rather than having multiple public IPs transparently 'passed through'.

Yeah, it's pretty much non-existent (it does have some very basic stuff, but nothing like gargoyle\OpenWRT) along with per client usage reporting. Those are the main things I miss about my old setup. All I'm saying is that when I weighed up the cost for a modem that will bridge + ATA compared to the fritzbox (given I know I'll be on VDSL for a good while so a contract isn't an issue) I didn't think it was quite worth it.

This. Some really good ISPs are already offering VDSL and it's well worth it.

I don't know if vodafone will ever offer VDSL. They've given no indication lately that they will and while I think they did some trials and had plans a long time ago, they seemed to drop them in favour of UFB. And there has been noise about Telecom VDSL for quite a while too but still nothing and no real indication of when it's likely from them.
