so me and my dad are going to have to move into a motel for a month from the 29th of july and i was wondering if any of you knew any that had good internet, none of this $30 for 500MB crap i've been hearing about.

or would it just be cheaper to go with 2degrees' $99 for 12GB option?

2Degrees probably have an APN that connects you directly to the net. You could use a router that has a USB port to plug the stick in to. Or find a 3G router that supports their 3G frequency and put a SIM straight in there. I have found routers with built in 3G to be generally rubbish but have never used decent high end gear.

2degrees seem to change ip's regularly even while actively using a connection. it's really annoying if you're trying to play an online game or such, but would be even more annoying for a server i imagine.,

If it is just for a month perhaps just put your Mincraft on a cheap VPS?
I really wouldn't bother trying to get a 'proper' internet connection for a month. It will cost at least $200 for a connection. I have only used the 2Degress 12GB pack in a backup situation where we don't need to rely on a fixed IP. VoIP works good as gold through it. I am using it with quite a few clients with a mix of Draytek 2130's and Cisco SRP527W's. We had to source a different USB modem for the Cisco but the 2Degrees '21Mbps' stick works fine with the 2130.

eg: Minecraft hosting

Edit: Looks like their servers might be in AU, probably still fine.

hmm nah ive looked into that before, costs too much. i found a motel that has 'unlimited' internet, aside from their 200GB cap that is.
