Does Woosh transmit on a particular channel or channels, similar to a wireless router having its channels  (1 -11) available?

Woosh operates in a licenced band between 2053MHz and 2082MHz, this is some 450MHz away from the 2400MHz Wifi band.

Cyril,

Thanks for that .... presumably this is why Woosh can market the (NetGear) wireless modem/pcmcia card access hardware and not experience interference with each other?

Accordingly, could I assume the same non-interference with my Woosh P1D and separate wireless router/access point being fairly close to each other?

Shouldnt interfere, but hey anything can happen when mix and matching kit. I have seen your other posts, honestly I think you should attempt to get hold of another AP to see if thats the issue.

I also have found the pcmcia wifi cards to be dodgy (DSE ones I tried) have not tried others but I found these had quite limited range and regularly disconnected and reconnected a few secs latter. My new Tosh Laptop has built in Wifi, and successfully sees my belkin router 60meters away, within the confines of the house the signal meter stays pinned to the top with an occasional bar dropping, and that 25meters away and around 4-5 jib walls to penetrate.

Cyril,

Thanks for comments, and yes i think you have summed it up nicely <s>.

I've timed the drop-out of the wireless card, and its pretty consistently 20 minutes, which is why I've been looking for an elusive laptop and/or software explanation.

Cheers,

R.
