I'm on the ICONZ 2.5 Mbps plan and i live in christchurch

Someone please help me this..i have no idea what is wrong with it but this is what Tracertin google shows, everything is running REALLY slowly and it takes about 40 sec to load a website and my connection often dies - the status icon on the router goes out. O and i bet no one has a worse ping then mine.

Tracing route to []
over a maximum of 30 hops:

That is bloody nasty. The delay looks to be between your router and your ISP. Call up your ISP and bleet.

I've been wanting to change ISPs for Ages now..since this connection not only IS SLOW it also disconnects once every 10 or so minutes and that annoys the hell out of me..even after i've reset the router and formatted the computer nothing seemed to right now i'm considering Xnet's FS in and 128 Out with 15 Gig allowance per month. SO i'm wondering is Xnet a good ISP and is it stable and how is the ping in games and all that?

I've heard good things about Xnet too.

Although remember ADSL is ADSL, and it's still over Telecom's lines. Do you live in a rural area? Do you know how far away you are from the phone exchange (or the nearest DSLAM)?

The issues could either be caused by poopy ISP stuff, or you are just generally too far away to get ADSL going right. I'm sure you could call up your ISP and ask how far away you are. Or you could go for a walk & follow the phone cable. Might be easier to call the ISP.
