Hi there, I having been using the Woosh ADSL flatrate plan, and have been using utorrent for about 2 months. I have been getting some good download speeds. But over the last few days, it seems to work well for about 20 seconds then drop down to zero. This same pattern happens if I restart utorrent, restart the modem.

Are others having this experience? Is this likely to be due to download restricting?

I'm not sure if I should waste hours trying differnt settings or not?

When it drops down to 0, are you able to access any other pages? Does your modem respond (ie. through admin webpage)? Can you ping other hosts?

I had this problem with a older, cheaper dlink which often would crash with bittorrent clients being open. If it is the modem - then it is not the ISPs fault (but you may be able to arrange for a modem swap).

Hi Cokemaster. Yes the modem seems to continue to run without problem. I am still able to access the internet without any noticable speed difference (although not when utorrent is running - it doesn't seem to share nicely). I experienced the same thing about a month ago and changed settings over about 2-3 days and it came right. I was never sure if it was the settings that I changed that fixed it or something at Woosh.

Thought I'd update on this. It seems the problem was the modem. A Dlink 302G. Could not handle the torrents. Something to do with a large number of open connections. A number of sites list the Dlinks as crap for this. Brought a Dynalink 1320. And dowloads are peaking at 120kB/s. Very happy!!
