Hi There!

I have a spreadsheet which contains all the addresses that are UFB ready. In that sheet it says that 204 Quay St has UFB, but 152 doesn't. Why would that be?

Not sure, but if one address on State Highway One has UFB, that doesn't mean everyone on SH1 can get it. I guess they have to draw the line somewhere. Perhaps related to capacity or the route of the existing copper and existing ducts. Or perhaps they serve the area with a shortage of copper pairs first.

Different exchange?

I think that was the reason I was given here from memory, I'm the first property outside the boundary of the area set to get UFB by next year. Painful.

As they are feed from completely different places. (Exchange VS a Cabinet)

Have a look at the Chorus UFB Map http://www.chorus.co.nz/network-upgrade-map and input the two addresses you will see that they are feed in two different supply/design areas, each of which will/do have different priority rateings for installation

If you do a search on the Chorus map for "126 Milson Line, Palmerston North", that address and 4 other properties next to it are in a 'no mans land' with no indication of UFB. Why would that be?

Did you have a look at the map? These properties are surrounded by UFB areas, so it's not as if they're on the edge of the UFB coverage area.

As they are down a shared driveway maybe one of the houses have not given Chorus Permission to go down so those houses will never get UFB there.

But impossible to know really why. Only Chorus Knows.. Do you have a customer there?

Those ones are a bit of boundary shape programming error as ive seen the concept designs for that area and those addresses along there are include in the design for the front hses on that part of Milson Line and so are the hses on bethel crt which also apear to be left out

The shapefiles on chorus.co.nz/maps will be updated this week to resolve the apparent "UFB coverage hole" on Milsons Line.

The "colouring in department" had the crayons out this weekend, Bethel Court (off Milsons Line, P. North) is now coloured blue.

If you spot any other inconsistencies in the Chorus coverage tool please let us know.

No worries there. I haven't noticed any other issues like that in Palmy. I'll have a look at a few other NZ cities when I have the time.

My house doesn't show UFB nor will it get VDSL... but I don't think that's a mapping issue sadly!

If a rural area shows that brown colour does which I think mine saying >5Mbs is there are chance it could be upgraded to >20Mbs in the future or nah?
