Hi Guys,

Currently living the dream at 6.5mb down after cutover day on Friday,
Bloody orcon ping to World of tanks S.E.A is the same as the conklin pre fiber service  300ms to singapore with bad jitter +- 15ms
Watched my first youtube video @ 1080p , only buffered once i think

But apparently Adsl2 is not activated for up to a week after.
I also assume Vdsl connections are on hold for this period as well.

Does anybody have any idea of the timelines for Asdl2 activation post install.

Cheers

Jeremy

Most cabinets seem to have a period of a couple of weeks of testing after they go live, so I'd give it a little while to see how things settle down.

I have no idea about ADSL2 activation timings (if this even exist, who told you that?) but make sure your modem is correctly configured to use the new profile.

Hi
Running man is correct the Isam tech told me Adsl2 is turned off by Chorus for a period of time for line testing.
As after cutover I could only sync on G.DMT & G.lite @793000 so I when to talk to the techs to see why , They confirmed it was Adsl2 capable but it was disabled for a period of time for line & I assume load testing.
Sadly I dont think I can get a Vdsl install until adsl2 is up

p.s

Running a draytek 120 bridged to Pfsense.
I have tried all the Adsl2 modulations and they attempt to  handshake but wont connect

Will my connection change to ebuba when Adsl2 goes live.
As on a tracert with Orcon I still get conklin era pings for international 250-330ms to singapore

2 50 ms 37 ms 41 ms buba.bng1.nct.orcon.net.nz [60.234.8.3]

There is a whole process that your ISP (not Chorus) needs to do to move you from your ADSL1 profile to the new one (plus moving you from an Basic UBA handover to an Enhanced UBA one)

I would expect it to take 2 weeks or so, typically Telecom make the grooming exercise 3 days after the Chorus has notified all ISPs with connected subscribers that cabinet commissioning has been completed other ISPs may take longer.

This thread should be in the Orcon page, and let the Orcon helpdesk sort you out.

Thanks, I have a thread on the Orcon page atm. Just thought i would detail the Adsl2 delay, As it does not appear to be common knowledge.

It is very common and has been gone over many times in here.

This.

Wait a little while, and see what config changes and tweaks happen over the next week or so. Then, if you still have a problem, contact your ISP's helpdesk, and (amongst other things) you can establish what sort of connection you have, and if it is appropriate given the hardware you are connected to.
