I am an Orcon customer in Browns Bay and anxiously awaiting for fibre. Using Orcons tool it always says Fibre will be available but we don't know when. This is despite Chorus laying fibre a year or more back.
I put in my next door neighbours address and it comes up with Fibre will be available in October.
I think the difference is my address is on a ROW of four properties. I note that Chorus are stating that ROW properties can only get fibre if they have consent from all properties on ROW. However I have a street frontage and cannot see any reason that I cannot be connected regardless of what the rest of properties up the ROW
Anyone any information on houses on ROW's

Have you put your address into Chorus' UFB availability map? What does it say?

Even if you're the front house in a ROW, I believe all users still need to consent due to the potential for trenching or other work in a shared zone.

yes tried Chorus it falls over. Rang them and they tried and it fell over for them as well. I don't think it will work with ROW addresses.
Dont see why I need other residents as I have street frontage and fibre runs about 1 meter from my fence in the berm.
I can be serviced direct into my front garden and others can be dealt with at anytime that they require. I am not looking forward to trying to obtain consent as some of the other properties are owned by people that live overseas.
Not an easy job I would think. Also the language will be difficult. Why would someone that lives in China care about my fibre requirements

Why not just make the order with Orcon? You will get a much better answer about it and find you could have got fibre a year ago when it was laid lol. Those maps are just indicative.....

We had this same issue with a staff member, we got a manual prequal done and then Chorus updated its data. Then we could order it.
If you PM me your account i can ask the provisioning guys to prequal it and hopefully get it sorted.

Of course then you will have the ROW conversation to deal with.
I would say it depends on how your line gets onto your property now that will dictate how that conversation goes.
