Hi Guys,

I have had so much trouble changing to my new house and getting my phone and broadband changed over. We had 2 lines into our house from the previous owners. Telecom installed the phone on the wrong line and then installed the broadband on that same line as well. This only had 1 jackpoint in the house. I rang telecom this morning to get this all changed. 40 minutes later on the phone and they said they can change my phone but not my broadband. I had togo through my provider which is Orcon. Telecom said adsl wouldn't work on the old line when phone line was changed over but it does!!!!!!!!  Orcon said that i don't have todo anything, it should just change over to the new line when they done the phone line change as adsl is specific to your phone number.  Can someone who knows please tell me who i should talk to about all this. I keep getting different answers from the different company's.

Hope you can understand my situation.

Thanks Jamie

It appears you are the (un)proud owner of naked DSL - this is something that virtually the entire country would kill to have at the moment!!!

Many many people and companies have lobbied the government (and Telecom) long and hard to get this capability, and someone who doesnt want it, gets it by accident.

Great.

I had naked dsl for a few weeks when my phone was cut off and I didn't know about it.

They tried to stiff me for a reconnection and new dsl installation fee when I called to get it sorted again.

If it logging in the net problem then call Orcon and ask them if they have actually reactivate your account.

I think you need to be more specific. So you have functioning ADSL on the original line (which shouldn't now work) and nonfunctional on the new line. The credentials should work on either line if the exchange was enabled so my guess is that the new line has not been enabled at the exchange when the phone number was shifted to that line.

Is this description correct??

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.
