I was checking the Chorus web site again and noticed this

http://www.chorus.co.nz/fibre-subdivisions

"New stages of existing subdivisions and all new fibre subdivisions will be built with the new UFB technology and no migration will be required. - See more at: http://www.chorus.co.nz/fibre-subdivisions#sthash.PhB0vUii.dpuf"

and as we are in a new subdivision of which the last part went on sale a few months back I was wondering if that means we could get it installed here plus the 1st part we are in..?? (FYI the 1st part didn't get UFB as it was just before Chorus started installing it automatically)

Seeing there are Chorus bods on here I was hoping they could advise what would/could happen etc...??

Rgds...Laurie

You're probably the best person to answer that - what does the Chorus coverage map show, and more significantly does the subdivision have copper?

Nah unfortunately as I have hit a dead end in my inquiries with the developer etc about this....The Chorus web site as above states they were doing this starting 5 years ago...which is about the time our subdivision would have started...we have been here 2 1/2 years now and bought the house new....it was the 4th/5th  house built here I believe....so we may fall within that 5yr time frame for them to install fibre in the remainder/all of the subdivision now...a bit of a stretch I know but possible I hope....

We have copper installed and the Chorus web site only shows ADSL for our area in the address checker.....but the subdivision site, referenced above shows Pukekohe/Pokeno as being included...we are slap bang in the middle....and in the correct time frame...

So I was hoping some one from Chorus on the forum here could check and clarify this situation..(or advise who to contact in  Chorus?) .. as there doesn't seem to be a facility on the Chorus web site to contact them directly and ask them to check on our particular subdivision... aka could they be encouraged to install fibre for the remainder and hence then the rest of it..???...it seems logical to myself,  from their comments above they intend doing this....????

Regards

Laurie

If you only have copper now you'll just fall into the regular UFB rollout.
