100/100 is a bit of a overestimate aint it? i mean, look at thoses complaining their 30/10 isnt maxing out to distant servers!

I have no trouble maxing my current 30/10 connection when downloading from international servers, I am upgrading to 100/50 shortly so it will be interesting to see how many more streams I need to max that out.

sarcasm is at a miss today :/

i have no problem maxing my connection iver, but the server your connecting to, thread counts, scaling windows etc tend to start to matter..

come production of theses new plans, i will envy your fiber even more however.. :L

Not really.
People max out the 30/10 and 100/50 plans, but I suspect the rage value of not filling a 100Mbps symmetrical link will be seen right up there with other great injustices.
Just my view...

EDIT
Ah sarcasm now noted...

And of course people will be expecting ISP's to dimension 2-3x the bandwidth per customer for the exact same price as they're paying now.

And, why not the rest of the country?

This is the problem I have with the fibre rollout structure -- different regions are receiving varying levels of service/ products.

And, over time that expectation will be realised.

For example, from memory, I used to pay telecom $100 a month or so for a 2gb cap and a speed limited ADSL connection.

Now, for a little bit over, I get 300 gig a month, and a 65mbps speed.

Oh if only I could get it.

It's coming some time over the next couple of years.

At the moment, I'd be happy with 30/10, but I can see 100/50 being very nice. Even VDSL would be good for me (I am 400m straight line from a VDSL exchange, but the cable must go a very screwy way because they won't provision it for me).

because it would be prohibitively expensive to do it.

the incremental cost (to chorus) of upgrading from 30 to 50Mbps etc is practically nil compared to the incremental cost of adding another 5% rollout coverage
