Hi guys, I bought a P870h for VDSL connection. However I am having trouble setting it up.

The device itself have DSL lights on but now internet access. And it briefly got accessed for 20 second then dropped. Snap customer service checked thir terminal and confirmed the port is working (?). They can see my modem is disconnected or not. But I still can't get access to internet.
The configuration for the device was
Layer 2 with vlan activated
PPPoE connection
User name
Password
802.1P :1
802.1Q: 10
MUT : 1492
Authentication : PAP
Rest just standard.

The weired thing is the modem itself briefly accessed the internet for 20 second and just do nothing afterwards.

I'm looking for a VDSL modem that is working to borrow or someone has experience with this modem to help me with. Ofcourse I would pay some fee if required.

Long weekend without internet access is killing me :S

Your layer 2 interface should be 'VLAN MUX' mode.

Then for the PPP stuff:
802.1P: 0
802.1Q: 10
MTU: 1492
Auth: Auto

and then just username and password.

It's not what you posted above.

I guess the first thing to establish is whether your modem syncs. You haven't said whether this is occurring or not.

Yea sorry what I ment is vlan mux activated.

I can see on the modem status DSL line is getting 37 down 10.3up.
Not too sure what do you mean by sync, this is the part that confuses me :S sorry

I believe it is not synced. Just checked the xDSL status, it only shows the Showtime but nothing about sync
How do I sync the modem?

In the Interface Setup window on the main status page, what are your DSL sync stats? In the Device Information window, is the Connect link coloured grey? If not, click on it.

David.

I don't mean the VLAN MUX mode. You have the 802.1p tag set wrong.

If you follow what is above it will work. If it doesn't you've done something wrong.

Hi, just to repeat what others have kept telling you, 802.1p must be 0 not 1 as you have posted.

Bridging is in that same menu that you would have just gone through.

You keep the same P and Q tags but set to to 'Bridging' mode ratehr than 'Routing'. The Zyxel takes care of the VLAN tagging so then you can just have a standard PPP dialler on your linksys to authenticate.
