Hi Guys,

I know this is a question very hard to answer but I was wanting to know how close UFF are in thier posted availability times in the address finder?

Where I am living now Fibre is not available until 2016 but where I am moving to in 3 weeks is listed as having full fibre services available 1/1/2014.

What also complicates things as I have read is my driveway is shared also.

What are my chances of having fibre available on this date?

Thanks,
Jeremy

The area could be kitted out in mid December and you could hook up early, or it could take another 3 months due to other delays.
Some areas that already have fibre still say they are due for completion mid next year.  Same thing happened when ADSL 2+ was being rolled out in the masses.

Having an area becoming available on New Years day is a challange.
If they were to meet that date they should be drilling the streets now or putting stuff on poles. The best check would be to see the work is being done at the moment or if there is any sign that it has been recently done (new grass or ashpalt).

Hmm...

No new ashfalt, grass or pavement. Nothing on the poles either from what I can see.

Bugger. Not looking good.

Check my signature for my Hamilton & Tauranga links - unsure if you are in one of these two areas.

We receive a database update every month and we update our website address checker straight away. Latest release was yesterday.

I often find it can be weeks before UFF updates their own public/partner databases with the new data sets, i.e. a specific address at present shows it won't be service ready for a few months...but this latest update shows it's a go live December 1.

I am told I can bank on the data I'm provided, especially once an address is in "constructed" status.

Service Ready dates are almost always 01 of the month. That's the date the ISP can then place the order with UFF. Orders placed on the 01 I wouldn't expect to have installed for several weeks.

I am looking at going with Snap! as I have heared good things and prices are very competitive.

I'm a little confused as to what forms I should be filling out.

Chorus have two firms on thier website which are very similairly worded and unsure which to fill out.

UFF also have a form on thier website which is very basic and just asks for house ownsers name and address.

I want to get all the consents out of the way and in progress so I can contact snap and get the ball rolling on the install.

Do I need to contact snap first and have them send me these forms? In another thread there was mention of obtaining these forms earlier and making things happen quicker.

Hope you guys can help me out with the shared driveway issue!
