Starting this thread to discuss general availability of UFB in the Waikato (Hamilton, Cambridge, Tokoroa & Te Awamutu).

The latest UFF dataset for Hamilton has been uploaded to fullflavour.co.nz.

Someone rightly pointed out on our facebook page that there was a difference between what the checker on our website was advising vs the UFF website. I've been advised we're running the latest database and other sources can lag.

Only other piece of news - no UFF installations will be occurring over the Christmas / New Years break (+ a couple of days either side). For addresses with a Service Ready of 01/01/14, I wouldn't expect installation until the middle of the month.

So this has appeared in my street:

I'm quite certain FDH = Fibre Distribution Hub. There are numbers coming out from it with arrows which i assume are number of fibres in each bundle (it adds up with how many houses are in each direction with some spare). There are purple lines painted down the street too and lines going to each house.

Speaking to one of the workers, they are laying down new cables/piping of some description, and taking the opportunity for wel to lay down UFB ducting as well. Right now they are digging holes at one end i assume preparing for the thrusting of the ducting.

Does anyone think service availability from June next year is likely going to be bought forward? I understand there's quite a process from the installation of the ducting to the blowing then splicing of fibre etc, but this is more than 7 months ahead of forecasted availability.

Any thoughts, or others experiences with UFF's typical rollout time?

At least 3 months maybe more from thrusting to being ready for UFB installs into houses in Hamilton, at least in my street.

1. Thrusting (30 November 2012, repair damaged power cable, January 2013 repair damaged sewer).
2. Drop leads into properties. Jan 2013
3. Install cabinet Feb 2013
4. Blow test each individual property lead, then bury it. Feb 2013
5. Wait till UFF/ISP's update their records for UFB enabled areas. May 2013
