Hi All

The laying of the UFF is under way in Cambridge, however when the crew laying the pipes came down my street (King St) they stopped 100 metres from my house and went down a different named street. It was very frustrating to see this happen as I had registered through Orcon that I wanted to sign up.

My question is is there any where I can find out when the maybe back to finish off King Street?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, your registering interest doesn't at all change the rollout plans.  The rollout plans were laid down by the government and mostly to cover schools and the like, rather than going for maximum consumer uptake.

Your best bet is to check here and see if you're in the planned coverage area:

Thanks for the info.

That's interesting, the map says it will be available next year but the team laying the hardware have moved on from our area as all the streets around us now have it laid in the ground.

I don't think I'll be holding my breath:-(

Ive found with UFF in cambridge your area will be ducted approx 3 months before your fibre availability date. Our area went live beginning of this month but they laid the ducting in august. So you will probably find they will be back sooner rather than later.

It's not just in Cambridge,
The microducting is always about 3 months ahead of the live date; this allows for the job to be completed and back-hauls to be fully tested etc  just in case the job goes to custard with the weather
