I posted about this at the beginning of the year, since then have had an order open with Telecom and waiting for a result. Recently they have come back and still refuse to connect a phone line into our property.
The street name is Tasman Heights, Glinks Gully. Its part of a small settlement on Northlands West Coast, about 20min south of Dargaville. Please note this is the actual phone line im referring to, not broadband.
The neighbours around us have phone lines, some of them with broadband too! There is no cellphone reception in this area on any of the networks, its a complete DEAD spot.
We have to drive 1km to the top of the road to get reception and even then its patchy. As a last resort I could just connect up with a neighbour but would rather try and avoid this if possible. Is there anything at all we can do here? No cellphone reception, no phone line, we are basically being left cut off from the outside world. Isn't Telecom obligated under some agreement with the govt to provide a phone line?
