This thread is just to gauge the amount of data GZ users go through.

What I want to see is the following

1. ISP (e.g. Xtra)

2. Connection type and plan (e.g. ADSL, fs/128k, go large)

3. What your connection gets used for (2 adults, 2 teenages, lots of browsing/email, a little youtube, a few .iso's, loads of p2p)

4. Average usage or total usage by month (e.g. 4GB a month, or Jan 3GB, Feb 5GB, Mar 2GB)

I think many would be interested to know. Please take your conclusions, comments, flames, rants, moans, and other comments to ANOTHER THREAD.... hijack this thread and make it less useful and I might just go on an unbalanced unfair powertrip and delete irrelevant posts... (but feel free to make comments in your post containing the useful info....)

Xtra
ADSL Go Large (fs/128)
2 adults, lots of trademe, lots of email, lots of general browsing, a few .iso's and beta programmes (explains the spikes), not much multimedia stuff (youtube etc) and virtually no p2p.

= approx 6GB per month average.

I think I would be better off moving to a pro plan for an extra $30 a month, and getting that full speed upstream lovin', and hopefully better overall download speeds too. I have never exceeded 15GB in the last year!

Orcon 15GB FS/FS (Average 6.5Mbit+)
Every month since October I have hit my 15Gb cap, usually around 17-18Gb per month.

This month is going to come in around 12-13Gb. I am a heavy torrent user, I go through 4 or so 'video clips' per week. Also quite a few .iso's from MSFT

3 Adults.
iSlug 10GB 2.5/128 + 10GB "off peak"
Usage scrapes in at about 6GB a month
No illegal stuff (Limewire SUKS and torrents won't download anyway so was put off for life.)
but the occasional game demo download or add--on packs
iTalk Voip.

Me, Harrier on 1GB promo plan, usage scrapes at barley 50MB as it's old and getting unreliable.

EDIT * harriers battery started to bulge today after being on charge for a full week trying to breathe life back into it., spelling the termination of that 1GB plan, Maybe i'll put on a 1GB on my GSM-HSDPA n95? hmmm. I know that would be able to make use of it, hopefully VoIP. shame the coverage is a bit shady.

1. Clear

2. TCL cable 1G

3. 2 adults: web and email mainly, a bit of multimedia, the occasional website update, a bit of Skype now and then. I do all my big downloads and updates at work on Citylink. My biggest traffic would normally be my photos website, but I do that offline and update via LAN as required.

4. 600-800MB
