Okay guys, i'll try to summarise what happened from the day i put UFB installation request through snap, up until today.
Hopefully you guys will be able to tell me what on earth is going on.
The timelines itself are not really accurate, but somehow close,
now.. I requested UFB connection through snap around June, after seeing my address was available in snap website, location bracken ave, takapuna, multi-dwelling units (6 units).
They told me the consent process would take approx 3 months, they will let me know when they have it (even though they didn't, i found out after calling snap about status update, this was roughly 4 months after the initial request)
One day, around end of Oct, i found bunch of dudes were digging the driveways (I had no call or notice from either chorus or snap), so i thought they were doing somethin else, until they had installed a rounded plastic disc outside, then i found out it was for the fiber.
Two days later i got a call, he was saying that the connection is ready to go, and he proposed that two days from that day technicians will come and set it up, and i say sweet.
15 minutes later he called me back, turns out there is a problem, and the appointment was cancelled, and up to that point he was not able to give me any completion date. When i asked whats wrong, he didnt know either.
November, was pretty much exam prep for me, and after the exams had finished i gave em a call (Visionstream plus snap), turns out there was something wrong with the ribonnete ( sorry i dont know what was it, sounded close like that, even the cust rep from snap have no idea what it was), and they have to order some parts for it.
After calling visionstream for about 2 weeks (by the the time it was already close to the end of nov) they told me that some parts are finished and hopefully by 16 of dec they will be able to implement the fix. I called visionstream today, hoping everything is okay. Turns out....there is something wrong with the fiber cable on my side of the street, again i am back with no completion date and they might have to dig the street again to reinstall the cable, but the guy said hopefully it wont come to that.
oh boy....
why on earth, that it is you dig the entire driveway, without actually checking the connection first? or even before then, have it tested ? why did it come to this? How on earth i waited 6 months half a year, an entire semester plus the end of semester break, just to find out that the fiber cable is dysfunctional?
How the hell, that you told me that on the 16th of dec the fix will be implemented and to find out the cable is broken?what is the correlation?
sorry geekzone dwellers, i know it is very hard to understand, i'll try to answer any of your confusions, in return please help me to make sense to all of this...
