Hello Geekzone, I've Had internet issues over the past couple of days.
Hosting issues on Payday 2, with friends complaining of lag,
Ping spikes on League of Legends,
and im wondering if Christchurch internet is okay.
Here is a tracert to the Oceanic (Australian) League of Legends game server

LOL Oceania forums are clear, but i did some Googling and it seems NZ World of Warcraft players are experiencing similar ping spikes starting 14th Dec and their tracerts look the same.
What's wrong with my internet?
P.s sorry for bad grammar

Im in Brookhaven, (Woolston/Ferrymead)

hopefully those router stats are sufficient, i can post  , LAN Settings,  Internet Settings too

But im not sure if giving the world my mac adress and ip and gateway and all the stuff is a good idea incase our network gets hacked.
Anyhow, if it doesnt pose any risk give me a yell and i can post the rest and message you, im not sure the kinda etiquette for posting modem stats yet.
Thanks!
Also if it helps at 24 Kotaku Cres, there are roadworks and they are drilling into the road.

Thanks!

Not necessarily, Telecom's first external hop is know to de-prioritize ICMP so a tracert won't reflect real world UDP or TCP/IP performance.

Haven't noticed any latency issues on dota2 or wow (Telecom in Auckland) in the last few days, I'm on holiday so have been playing a lot heh

No his traceroute looks pretty good to me. That node is probably de-prioritising ICMP, which will result in weird results in the middle of the traceroute.

Only the end ping result matters in reality.

I'll play a game of LoL and see how it goes. Is there any way to make it like normal internet traffic  and not an imbc ping or whatever? my router blocks those pings itself haha so i'd hate to see what riot does to them!

also do you know when we will get netflix in new zealand? it will surely push telco's to increase data caps, increase ufb uptake etc etc. Hopefully we'll reach the days where i can watch a 1080p youtube video without having to worry about data usage.

Best to ask the Pay-TV providers that offer Subscriptions in this country that question. Given those are the groups that are holding such back. Or you could just go to Unblock-us.com
