Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, looked for it but couldn't find

So in around Oct 2013 there was news of Chorus defining new plans for UFB

http://www.nbr.co.nz/opinion/chorus-puts-cheaper-faster-ufb-fibre-table

Looks like a few ISPs are already offering this. There was a thread on here in which Orcon said they'd be passing these on in Jan 2014

So far - nothing seems to have happened.

Anyone know what's happening with this??

Well I raised the question in the middle of another thread, but good to have this as a stand alone topic.

I am interested the the dropping of 30/10 as the minimum plan, and going to 50/20 for the same price ;-)

Somewhere I found a list of meeting dates with Chorus and the RSPs, to see when they would next discuss this, but my Google-foo has failed me, and I can't find it again.

Didn't Chorus stop this once the ComCom decision about reducing the UBA prices came out? Looking at saving money and this review of pricing was one of the causalities?

As far as I'm aware 3x LFCs (Enable, UFF & Northpower) offer 50/20 already.

So in theory no reason why Orcon couldn't offer that product in those LFC areas.

If Chorus have a product that's inconsistent with that though, I can see why a national ISP isn't keen on offering a product that isn't available in all LFC areas.

I saw it mentioned on here that Snap were paying for a 100/50 for those, then limiting it to 50/20...

Orcon will only offer fibre speeds if ALL LFC's are offering the same plan.

Otherwise its too hard on the Prequal systems, Marketing etc. Just adds another layer of complication and customer confusion.
