Anyone used the RB2011iL on a business 100Mbit/50Mbit UFB connection recently? Will it handle the throughput and the moderate load of a typical 10 person office?

Looks like a good fit to me but I figure it's worth asking if anyone has any recent experiences.

Anyone know the depth of the rackmount version RB2011iL-RM? Will it fit in a typical 450mm deep Dynamix wall mount cabinet?

Can't seem to find the dimensions on any of the product pages eg: http://routerboard.com/RB2011iL-RM

So we ended up getting the rb2011il-rm. very compact depth indeed!

Getting UFB connected this week hopefully. New to RouterOS (but have reasonable passable networking knowledge) so having a go at setting up in advance, from default/shipped config I've changed:

- Removed DHCP client on ETH1 (as it's a PPPoE UFB connection and looked like it was for DHCP WAN)
- Added VLAN interface id 10 using ETH1
- Added PPPOE client interface using VLAN interface
- The default bridge (bridge local) looks like it bridges ETH1 to ETH2-5 (gigabit ports) which should be fine?

Does that sound correct?

Then I'll be changing the DHCP server, NAT, Firewall, QoS (for voip) rules/settings.

Make sure you masquerade the PPPoe interface and not ether1

And make sure the firewall block all rule is set to your PPPoE connection

Great thanks, do I need to set a dhcp client to fetch the public ip address and dns servers from the ISP or does the PPPoE interface handle this?

^ PPP (IPCP to be specific) takes care of it - it will assign you an IP address, DNS servers and the default gateway

If your ISP uses PPPoE then no - if they use DHCP however you could need to assign a DHCP client to the VLAN10 interface.

Just to add a data point for anybody who is interested. I am using a Mikrotik RB1100AH for a Vodafone UFB connection. But it doesn't only do that which would be overkill. It already was supporting a 100Mbs Citylink Internet connection on which I was running a site-to-site VPN. The Vodafone UFB is on a different port so I run two completely separate Internet connections on the same router with each connection outputting to different ports on the Mikrotik.

I can't say I find RouterOS easy to use. I have only dabbled with the GUI and let a vendor do all the configuration for me which they can do remotely, thankfully
