Is there anything I can do about this? I live in Stratford and we're not scheduled for UFB till 2017.

Am I stuck on ADSL until 2017?

I didn't think Stratford was going to get UFB? Just Hawera and New Plymouth

I called up the company rolling it out in Taranaki and they said they have no plans until 2017+

Have you called your ISP and asked them to do a pre-qual? Have to remember those maps are indicative.

Post ADSL line stats please.

Its based on electrical length and other stats. If your downstream attenuation is lower that 10.5 or there about you should be fine.

Similar stats to mine. Get a prequal done. Looks ok.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Sorry, but what is a prequal? is it getting my ISP (or chorus) to come down and check?

I would say run with it. Put a request through.

The worst that can happen is it gets rejected...

Prequal = prequalification check. It's free :)

Any ISP, but it's usually best to contact your current ISP.

Ask your current ISP or the one you want to switch to

Thanks for the support,

I've contacted my ISP (Bigpipe) about this and I'll probably post here with the results.
