Heya,

I live in a 4 story townhouse that is part of a small 10 unit complex. Our unit is about 40m away from the roadside. I heard that the fibre installation to residential MDU's has been altered this year & properties over 3 stories may now require a 'contribution' from landowners/body corporates (as the cost is no longer fully funded by the government?).

If we got fiber installed, we'd get the ONT installed by the tv on the third floor. Despite being 4 stories and part of an MDU, if the ONT was installed on the third floor would the government subsidy likely cover the whole install?

Thanks!

Is your town house over all 4 storys? - if so then the above 3 doesnt apply as this is intended for units on a single floor above the 3.

MDU concent process still applys for concent and generaly common termination point of interconnection for fibre for all units.

Depending on how your house has been already cabled and the ability to add additional you may have to have the ONT installed in the most appropriate place for it (just like what happens in any SDU anyway)

Yeh our unit is over all 4 stories so that's a relief. Thanks a lot!
