Hi all, ye ole thompsom router packed up over night and I need a replacement today - so no ordering online. I only need adsl2+ and four fast ethernet ports, no wireless or future proofing, but I want something not completely devoid of configuration and that can handle a bit of bittorenting & lan side ftp (gotta move those linux isos around) - and it needs to not die in the next two years.

A bigger problem is I don't even know what stores are left in Christchurch, all I know of is Dragon which online has exactly one model of router avalible, and dse which is expensive and not even a computer/electronics store anymore.

Any suggestions for either problem welcome.

Could try Global PC in Tower Junction or Homebase Shirley. They seem to have a range of routers, including some good value TP-Link ones

Global PC up at Tower Junction are pretty good and are much more friendly and helpful than DragonPC (although I usually buy from Computer Lounge or Ascent online).
