As in the subject is anyone here connected to, or has installed connection to Chorus Rural Fibre? That is to say, the scattered pockets of new Chorus fibre ducting available for end user access.

Just wanted to know if the process is just the same as with UFB in just contacting a RSP? Also is the whole process very difficult? I know the customer has to do the trenching etc but are there any other things to know?

Process is fairly similar. Took less than a month for Chorus to complete one of our installs for it. Rural Hamilton, to be a little specific.

However... If I remember correctly, the quote for install was about $9,000 but I don't know what the actual cost was sorry.

a question to Darren0, how far was the fibre run from cabinet to door? just wanting to know what you got for $9000.

DarkShadow: What's the monthly price?

Standard ISP pricing as it's simply an NGA connection from there.

Cant have been more than 20 metres (from the road), but again, I don't have any specific details surrounding the install. For all I know, Chorus could have done the trenching too.

Feel free to contact an ISP to get hold of a quote for you. Maybe the residential Chorus user on Geekzone could source that information for a specific case for you :)

Sorry yet another edit, from cabinet to door, no idea. All I know is that the building cant have been more than 20 metres from the road.

Pricing is really going to depend on the work required and what level of reinstatement is required. You can't really just look at distance.
