Hi,

I've got a letter late August from Chorus advising UFB works will be done from August till October, nothing has been done so far. How can I figure out how long it has been postponed for?

Cheers

Are there signs around your area with dates at all? Any other streets near you with fibre being laid?

Chorus map says we should get it by April 2015 and I haven't seen any work being carried out around. The letter said UFB would be laid between 23rd August and 23rd of October, I guess something went wrong and these dates have been moved :( I guess I have to wait for another 6 months or so....

Just out of interest, do they always send letters about them doing work? The bottom half of my street about 300m away is getting fibre installed as is the street around the corner about 200m away, but haven't been notified about any work in my part yet.

We recently just bought a house just 330 mtrs down the rd. Where we were renting no Fibre but new house does.
So you could always do that I mean buy a house round the corner if you want UFB quicker.
I think in our case its because there is a Primary School around the next corner

I think I will just wait, just seems funny that either side of me fibre is being installed, but not in my bit, and I am the one 2 metres away from a school - literally.

Not all Chorus UFB communial network installs require major visble civils work to be undertaken for it to be installed - If you are in an aera where Chorus operate an existing 'pit and pipe' distribution of the Copper network {No above ground terminals and all houses feed off a ducting/conduit system along the road} then you may not notice any reconstruction work taking place apart from the replacement of some of the smaller pits for slightly bigger ones (approx 1 every 24 houses) and these may even be installed in neighbouring/cross streets. When you request service then the fibre service cables are drawn through from these pits to your house.

M-in-law sent me a pix this morning of the fiber diggers in my street in Tauranga getting started.  Ultrafast Fiber  says available March 01.2015.  Wonder if Spark  will have access to it  by then..??

Meanwhile where I live in Pt Chev , AKL I see the diggers around the town center   but who know how far they will go as my place still says "unknown"

Regards,

I moved here in January, got the letter around February and the connection became available to me around July. But I'm still on VDSL.
