Hi Folks,

I just wanted to ask, what is the current situation regarding changing providers on UFB?

If it's possible, are there any issues or gotchas that we would need to be aware of?

The LFC in this case is UltraFast Fibre.

Cheers,
Sherman

How I did it was provision service to Port 2 of the ONT (you can do this with UFF/Enable but not on Chorus's network) then once it is up and running disconnect the service running on Port 1.

When I did do it I was told I was the first to request such a thing and it did take them a few weeks to provision but worked pretty well meaning essentially a seamless swapover.

Hmm, that's a thought.

Just make your new ISP aware to shove the request through to Enable / UFF with "provision connection on Port 2 of ONT" - the ISP doesn't have to do anything special other than that.

The ISP in my case was Unleash/Solarix and they did it with some ease.

If your RSP is taking over a connection, they should just need your details along with your order number (UFF Reference) which your current RSP should be able to supply no sweat.

You should get in touch with each party to make sure you don't pay any termination fees as your RSP is actually contracted to service the address for 12 months.

We had a 12 month contract and we are now outside of that period.

Thanks for the replies.
