Hello everyone.

We have ihug broadband 3.
We got a new modem a few weeks ago and have been having intermittant disconnections.
It has only started since we got this new router (D-link 504T)
I have ihug numerous times and they cant help me. The told me to change DSN settings and modulations. Nothing
Has anyone else been having these problems?
Are there any programs that can monitor your connection and log when you disconnect so that i can tell it to ihug as they want a log so they can lodge a fault with telecom.
Cheers

If you log into your router there should be an option of 'log', sometimes it is disabled, so you might need to enable it, reboot, then log on after a disconnect to see what the log says - something like 'view log' should be visible.

The problem with changing the router is that it wont be supported by ihug. I just rang them and finally after about my 12th call to them the guy counted my number of disconnections (91) and is lodging a fault with telecom andthey will be here on wednesday.
FINALLY. I have been so sick of the lack of action. Never had any other problem with them.

D-link aren't the best but it should result in massive number of disconnections; I had some issues with my line and found that the issue was at the exchange.

As for 'supported by ihug' - thats assuming you need over the phone support; if you can follow instructions and a book, then you don't need to worry about it; if it is telepermit then it'll work with what ever ISP you want.
