hello all,
i have to spend some time in whakatane for my work. does anyone know by any chance if there is:

1. hsdpa or 3G coverage from vodafone?
2. telecom ev-do rev a network?

tossing up between vodafone or telecom network here. if someone can point to the right direction would be great!

thanks

there's definitely EVDO coverage there (not sure about HSDPA). Nice and quick too. A bit patchy if you go over the hill to Ohope (but if you're in Ohope you should be surfing the ocean, not the internet).
Cool

Have just checked Vodafones coverage maps, and there is no 3G there, so looks like its Telecom for you.

It may be better to call VF Customer services to check as the coverage system they have access to seems to be more up to date than the website

Why would Vodafone not keep their online coverage maps up to date? Do they not want any new 3G customers?

Would be best to ask them that, I have found numerous places that according to the coverage maps don't have 3G coverage but in fact do.

However in this case you are right, according to VF Website Melville Drive in Whakatane reports
Sorry, there is no 3G coverage here. We are regularly extending our coverage, though, so please check back regularly.
