Stuff is reporting that Orcon has delayed its mobile offering until February. Originally this was scheduled for release this month.
I think Digital Voice, their VOIP solution, was to be launched around now too. The Orcon Blog has been very quiet of late. Anyone heard when Digital Voice might make it's debut?

I can only suggest that it's all due to Vodafone's horridly unreliable and buggy billing system which they just cannot get right.

Digital Voice is being released at the same time as Nekkid DSL ;) They're waiting on Telecom to remove the "50 wholesale signups per week" limit before launching a commercial product.

I think Orcon, with parent Kordia, is almost certainly going to launch their own content over IPTV and DVB-H within the next few months. They've got a few content deals already apparently, it'll be interesting to know what kind of rights in regards to terrestrial broadcasting they have from those deals...

Also, as I posted in the other thread, I agree with lduncan that they're in the middle of scoring a deal with Apple to be the NZ iPhoners. They <3 Apple.

Not to mention Orcon's fantastic billing system! </sarcasm>

In the same way that two wrongs don't make a right, two crappy systems do not make a good one Wink

what do you find wrong with their billing system. I think it better than some other companys out their. Contact energy online billing system is shocking.

Orcon's billing system and data useage is the best I've used so far. Big downside to Orcon is there no replying to any support emails sent to them and the constant waiting on hold for 30-40 minutes.

The biggest thing that gets to me is the no replying to emails, have sent 7 odd for the one issue and still no reply and it's been two or more weeks. They're quick to get your money and sign you up but after that no contact at all.

Cant wait for nakid DSL and it's goodbye Orcon.

I've recently experienced this with Orcon as well - had a call logged and open for a month (billing issue) and received no update, then had the same issue the next bill. I sent another email to support indicating they had 48 hours to correct it or I'd be closing my account, and it was fixed in a couple of hours...

Orcon's online tools are great and saves having to phone them for simple glitches or questions.
The best part is anyone can see a summary of usage by just visiting the webpage, no logging in which is wonderful!

I think Orcon service so far is great, And the price is even better, only time will tell though!

Also have a billing issue, so if it comes up again will be doing the same thing. I was with Orcon afew years ago now and had the same issue and ended up going back to Telecom. Only reason I signed up with them again was the free phone line offer, but have started thinking to myself here we go again.
