Hi all,

Was just wondering if anyone here is signed up on the ihug Broadband 3 plan?
This plan is the one for $50 per month, and has the 'fair use' policy
More info on the fair use policy here

If you are on this plan, I was just wondering how the overall service is? Is it capped often like the Telecom Xtra plan?

Thanks

Hi

It was 'unlimited' ... but its basically a 20G plan with a 2G daily max,
you get throttled ..... strangled & mangled (worse than dial up) if you go over.

I'm on it, but looking to find another plan after they changed the fair use policy ..... have a look at some past posts.

Thanks for the replies guys.

If you stay within 2gb per day, are the speeds alright though? Because at the moment, i have a 3gb per MONTH limit on xtra, and before halfway through the month im already on dial up speed. So i thought the ihug braodband 3 plan would be a lot better for me. I don't do much heavy downloading.

Maybe 2gb per day limit would be reasonable for my usage aye.

Thanks

I get pretty good speeds, consistently around the 400K/s mark, that said I live in Papakura and I think I'm like the only person on the exchange with broadband, lol, so I don't know if that is representative.

I've been finding the 2GB per day reasonable, but I wasn't going too far above the 20GB most months anyway.

As long as you're aware of the limits and happy with them, you should be OK.  I haven't had any major problems with it.

Agreed, my speed tests are ~5mbits/sec on average, but I went over last month, whoa.. talk about painful..
