. . .

Phew!

Net was out at home (not a tech problem, more a penniless journo problem), so, no problemos, pop down to the local library where 1gb a day awaits. Or does it?

Sadly, seems as if the Tomizone network was down, at least that's what the friendly librarian said, as he clutched a sheaf of branded crash papers in one hand, and a phone to the network in the other. He said it was not just the Mt Albert (St Lukes) library, but citywide.

Was on deadline for a proposal, so lucky a mate came through with their blindingly <sarcasm> fast Woosh connection. Got the job done!

Anyone else had problems with Tomizone outages or is this a one off?

I live straight across one of the local Auckland Libraries, so when we did have a limited data allowance on our broadband, we would hop across to get some of stuff done without even leaving the house!

It hasn't failed in my experience, though can sometimes slow to an absolute crawl when kids jump on after school. Occasionally the Wi-Fi network doesn't even connect, but that was more a device finicky problem.
