Hi all,
I'm think of going to VDSL through Spark on a 12-month 80GB phone and broadband plan and wanted to ask does the installation technician replace the wires between the box on the outside wall where the underground line comes in and the inside cable socket with CAT 6 cable to facilitate connection to the VDSL Modem/Router all in one box?

Pretty much.

Far as I'm aware the mandate is to run a Cat-6 from demarc to pre-determined outlet location to ensure it's the only thing the pair is on and eliminate 'but too much noiiisseee...' issues

Okay and does the VDSL Modem have 4 ports plus the power cable port?

Depends on if you BYO. or which model the ISP provides if you get one included.

I think a lot depends on your existing wiring and how difficult it is to add new wiring from where your phone line enters the house to where you want the router. When I upgraded from ADSL to VDSL, all the Chorus tech did was install a master splitter, pick two wires from the existing phone cable, and used the corresponding wires on the existing outlet where I wanted the modem/router attached.

Would Cat5E be ok?
as I have already done this , the modem has its one Cat5E line from the little white box on the exterior of the house to the hall cupboard where the modem sits now
but only have ADSLand am thinking to upgrade soon
