Lorenceo: I'm in the same boat. I can see houses from mine which can get UFB.
Have been looking at setting up P2P wifi but at this stage can't get all parties (mainly my ISP, doesn't want to provision a second port on an ONT) to see eye to eye. Another potential problem is trees in the way which I can do nothing about.
It doesn't make sense to me that according to Chorus' own data my area has a high demand for UFB, but the date for availability is off far into the future, yet other areas with lower demand are getting it earlier. :(
Depending on how much they'd want I'd seriously consider contributing to install costs if it were an option. The UFB cabling along nearby residential streets is all aerial, strung along the power poles.

Why has their been delay in roll out of USB Mt. Roskill, was meant to be ready middle this year now looking 1-2 years. Especially last year was promised time frame not even grammer zone fully done.
The views expressed by me are not necessarily those of my employer Chorus NZ Ltd

What's the "grammer zone"?
tdgeek: The network providers can't do everything right now, someone, somewhere will be first and someone will be last. If the sequence changes you'd have to assume the demand would drive that, which is fair enough.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
