Evening all,

I've got a friend in costal Taranaki who is currently on Farmside rural wireless. All is well except that he get's HUGE latency issues, I've seen similar posts on Geekzone that Farmside is known for high latency issues. Is anyone aware of any providers in the Taranaki region form whom latency seems reasonably stable?

At the moment he's getting anywhere from 60-13,000ms latency with no rhyme nor reason to what causes it. Is your service likely to be more consistent that this? He's lived at two different addresses with Farmside and had the same issues, so it's more likely to be the ISP than the location.

What's the difference between your service and RBI Wireless?

It's hard for him to get some IPs as he plays World of Warcraft and it bounces you around a lot of IPs and most of them cannot be pinged.

we built our own network right around the mountain, nothing to do with any other providers/suppliers, get him to ask around his neighbors, we have hundreds of customers in coastal Taranaki.
