Ok heres the deal, im on Xtras go large plan (such a magnificent plan i no we all love it lol) and just done a speed test. MY dl speed was around 220 is and upload 120 - Thats fine and all but when i go to download a file from rapidshare and/or torrent i am BARELY even hitting 10kbs - what on earth is happening?

How can i fix so this so i get what speed it shows me im at?

PS: This speed test was done (As is the time of me creating this thread) OUTSIDE of xtras "Peak" hours ie: Less people are on so should go faster.

Thanks in advance :)

M_I_C_H_A_E_L: How can i fix so this so i get what speed it shows me im at?

Well... I think you already know the answer Michael:

-  Xtra have severe traffic limiting for P2P downloads on GO LARGE

-  There are 3 things you can get with an internet connection:  Speed, Low Cost, Lots of Data

You can choose any 2, but NOT all 3 together

Remember the old saying:  You get what you pay for Tongue out

If you want more speed, you have 2 choices:

-  Change to another Xtra Plan
-  Change to another ISP

It's your choice!

Is it likely for telecom/xtra to limiting your synch rate for the go large plan? Im also on this and sync to the exchange at a pitiful 700k (can dowload things at around 30k) My router says i have an atrocious attenuation rate but i know for a fact that im not 5-6km from the exchange because a friend up the road syncs at 5mbit.. However even at the pitiful speed i download on average 50gb a month, and can play xboxlive quite happily so im in no real hurry to move off my unlimted plan.. :)

garvani: have you considered given the low sync rate that you have a line or house wiring fault? You may also find that replacing the router changes things.
