I have to call 2Degrees every few months as my internet renders itself unusuable. Very slow, certain sites won't load ping in CSGo goes from 30MS to 500+.

Usually when I call they just refresh my port and all is good again.

Called tonight and while trying to refresh my port they said it failed and there is nothing they can do about it...

Just wondering, what is a port refresh? Do they some how 'refresh' the port i'm connected to at the exchange? or am i way off... Thank you..

My understanding is it disables the port on the Chorus DSLAM, pushes the config for the port out again, and sets it back as though it had only just been provisioned by Chorus.

A port refresh failing would indicate something not quite right on the Chorus network. Sounds to me like a fault with Chorus will need to be logged if a port refresh temporarily fixes issues with your line. Of course that is assuming all other basic troubleshooting has been done on your end.
