Yeah I know - wrong forum and who the h*ll wants dial-up - but I didn't see a dial-up forum?
My 70yr old mother needs dial-up (broadband is way more than she wants/needs), and doesn't do anything other than check emails. She was on the Slingshot pay $100 for the whole year plan (excellent plan!) - and the dirty monkeys have changed plans, demanded quite rudely that she take tolls with them or pay more - so no more Slingshot when her years up in March!
I've checked out a few and they are mostly over $10 for unlimited, or demand tolls be moved (the elderly like Telecom...) or require payment by Credit Card or Direct Debit (the elderly don't like either of those options...).
Wondering if anyone knows whether Supra is OK? Reliable? OK support? I just phoned them and got an answerphone to leave a message - are they a small company?
Orcons Hyper 30 plan looks ok, but again - phoned and waited ages and no-one!
Xtra I am loathed to recommend to her, as their plan of $10 for a scrawney 10hrs - with a $28 setup fee is a giant rip - but easy for her to pay the bill...
Any thoughts on Kiwionline? Unlimited for $59.70/6 mths looks ok, and she can pay by chq apparantly. Are they a reliable service? I remember years ago anyone with a kol email address got their mail bounced half the time, has it improved?
Compass? Snap?
Eek!
