I am having fibre installed today (the connection from the street to the house). The man from Chorus showed me the black termination box that is under the ground on the street. I understand the network between the street and the house. I was wondering if anyone out there knew of the details of what happens beyond the street and how this is connected back to Spark (or other telcos).

I did some Googling but can't find any information from Chorus.

It's called a GPON network if you want to look it up.

If you want the full agreements for the network build you can find them here.
