Yesterday I received a visit from a Spark rep trying to sell me Spark ADSL. I informed him I have a contract with Vodafone and was on VF cable 100/10.

He immediately offered to buy me out from my VF contract to be put on Spark VDSL.

I asked him why he wasn't offering me Spark UFB and his reply was that it isn't available on my street yet!!!

Weird thing is that both my neighbors are on UFB and it was live on this street approx 1 year ago.

He was still insistent it wasn't available....I had to be rude to him for him to leave...

I saw him go next door and he told my neighbor the same spin...and they have UFB installed...

Very weird...

LOL! Those dudes call me every 6 months, even though I keep telling them I have a DVS already.

I keep getting power companies calling, some of them have dodgy sales pitches too.

Time to find a new industry!

I am so lucky. No calls from anyone. And the door-to-door people are very far in between.

Think the big black mobile deterrent we have roaming the property stops most door to door reps at our place.... but very few phone ones.

Friend signed up for Vodafone VDSL yesterday, only to have the CSR trying to push them to use V/fone for mobile as well for an extra $10 from what she currently pays 2D - "but you'll save $10 on your broadband!" - CSR couldnt see the issue.... ;)

I had a VF salesman come by yesterday promising to better the monthly charge whatever it was and connect me to HFC. "Chorus may say they'll have fibre in the street in a year but add at least a year before it will be available. We have cable now." And then some story about since the neighbor had cable they wouldn't have to go all the way back to the pole. "Say the word and I'll get Chorus??? on to it"

Every 3mo for me. I had a call from "the heatpump department" and told them to remove my details from their database. The lady said "we can from ours however expect calls from other departments because we can't remove it off there" - I told her well ensure it is removed then.

No calls in 2mo so far but I bet I'll get another call from them.

I have voice over fibre and one cool feature is blocking private numbers from calling. Anyone that really needs to contact me will have my cellphone.
