I have recently moved house and I am having a considerable amount of trouble getting my connection transferred to my new address.
The old owner has been trying to cancel her connection with Vodafone and remove it from the address so we can add ours from BigPipe. But they just seem to be ignoring her requests. Possibly due to her closing her account instead of transferring it. Plus whenever she tries to get an update for us, she has to wait 2+ hours for anyone to answer the phone!
BigPipe have been extremely helpful though and have processed an abandonment request last week through Chorus, but it's been over a week now and no progress on Vodafones side.
I've spent about $60 in the last week on 4G data for a hotspot so I can do uni assignments which I can't keep up for much longer. :(

Are there any Vodafone reps on here that could help in this situation?
Cheers

Im sorry I dont know why I assumed it was UFB.

Anyhow you probably have a second pair coming into the house so big pipe could put the service on that

Another good idea is to check out Skinny Broadband in your area, as their plan is cheap to tide you over, and may even end up being a valid alternative?

Don't worry, we bought our place 20 months ago and we still get sent the previous owners' Vodafone bill.

In the numerous phone calls and emails between us a Vodafone trying to sort it out, I was told that a text was sent to the previous owners asking them to cancel their account.

Nothing else has been done and we still are stuck in the same position.

That would require a tech visit to the house, which the OP probably doesn't want to cough up for.

If they won't disconnect it get Big Pipe to send out a Chorus tech frer of charge to set up a second line for you!

I did consider Skinny Broadband but as I was unsure how long this process was going to take, I wasn't ready to cough up $99 for a modem that I would only use for a month max.
And I'm not sure if a second line would be any quicker as we are the 3rd house down a long driveway, so between consent from the other houses and the owner of our place as we rent, it would take weeks...

But I got good news today as BigPipe emailed saying they saw that a service order come up on the line today for disconnection scheduled for the 14th, so hopefully by Thursday I have a connection sealed
I went from ~100GB/day to under 500MB/day trying to ration my mobile data, so I've got a lot of catching up to do haha!

Mind you, this process has set my opinion of Vodafone Broadband in concrete. And I will never recommend them. Having to wait 2 hours to speak to someone is just silly, and they always throttle Plex streams to the point of being unplayable where friends on other ISPs never have issues.

Moving to BigPipe has been one of the best things I have ever done!

For something that's dragging out that long, I would usually return the bill, in the envelope, "Addressee Deceased"

Yeah I have done this, along with 5 other bills for various things...

BigPipe said that a service order was set for yesterday to disconnect Vodafone's line, so hopefully I'm not too far away from having internet again. Been 13 days so far with no connection, or 22 from the day I submitted the move house request...

I just put all previous occupant and wrong snail mail in a box, when the box is full I take it to the post shop to have them deal with it. Law says you cant throw it out, doesnt say returning it has to be timely.

You could ask Bigpipe to run a new connection. Yes you would get charged connection fees but that has to be better than waiting.

Then when the Chorus tech rings to book a time, tell them there is an intact connection at the property and just put this new connection in place of that one. They will physically disconnect the old vodafone line from your property, the bigpipe one will be in place, and the old vodafone customer is left to sort out the old bill themselves.
