Hey all,  I just have to say after seeing all the tales of sad and troubled times, my fibre connection experience has been cool.

The ducting went thru the existing telephone ducting, which took a lot of digging but the guys did a great job.

Everything went exactly where I wanted it placed, which was a huge relief, after getting the house wired for ethernet and preparing my preferred locations for the equipment.

The guys that came on site were all early, I never took any unnecessary time of work.

I have been online for about 2 hours now, getting 206 Mbps.  Haven't tried any online gaming yet but will soon.

I'm even gonna name the company, ultrafast fibre.  These guys have been excellent.

Of course, there is still the skeptical inner voice saying "wait and see how constant and uninterrupted the data stream turns out to be", but I'm replying "hush, I'm still in the good zone!"

Also Spark have not yet connected the phone up, but then I don't remember the last time I used a land line.  I'm sure it will turn up operational sometime.

I'm located in the south end of Hamilton, have been on ADSL for a few years, it has been getting a bit spiky at popular times of day.  Waiting to see how this fibre performs with all the things we demand of broadband.

Anyways, I had to say something about things going so well so far.

My experience with UFF was exactly the same a couple of years ago. A few weeks after a couple of UFF staff turned up unannounced to do a quality check on the workmanship. I gave them a 10/10 score.
