Anyone still doing this?  Like that Ihug, Clear.net, Paradise etc .... I still have a Clear.Net address which has been my private email email for all this time.  Who knows when they decide to withdraw it.  I have moved my online services email address to Gmail now.

Cheers ..

firstname@lastname.co.nz looks a lot more professional =)

When ever I see @xtra I think lack of knowledge, doesn't care where the email comes from, doesn't care how it works. Got it for free.

Sorry - that's what an xtra address looks like to me as well.
You could add 'and can't work out how to get a Gmail account'.

Still keeping my @ihug.co.nz

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

I don't think so. If I was to receive a job application in the technology field from someone with a xtra email address it wouldn't impress me. Gmail would impress me more.

It looks more professional then my current gmail email address

archeer (at) xtra.co.nz looks a lot more professional then nzgamer41 (at) gmail.com.

Sure, I could make a new account that looks more professional but then I'd need to change a heap of website email addresses to my new one

Still using my free lifetime orcon one, but the bulk of traffic going into it is redirected from my domains, so won't be too painful to have to move off it.

pretty sure i used my isp provided emails purely for spam buckets...

otherwise i have my screen name account for most of my online activities, a backup spambox option and lastly a few google business ones for key situations. Among that being email services for family members.

not exactly the cheapest of options, but works well for me and i love the google ecosystem (i know, i must love being spied on right?)
