I'm not sure what Chorus were thinking when they did this video...

I don't have the gig, no, because there's no UFB due in my street until 2019.

If it were available now I most certainly would have the gig.

One question though: Is it a gigabit, or a gigabyte? The email was a bit confusing. /s

I get what they were trying to achieve and it's great to try and educate your RSPs, but somehow I found it so condescending and almost like a school education video.

That is a Cringe Video .

This is a Wholesaler -> Retailer Video so I would expect they would get technical wording right.

Have a listen from 1:30 -> 1:51. 900 Meg? Does she say 900 Big the third time she says this?

I have to admit I heard the same thing - and I replayed that 3-4 times...

It's pretty Cringey - to say nothing of how at least one large ISP isn't calling it Gig... (Or gigabit, or gigabyte(!), or 1Gbps)

I have to suspect the fact checking on this carefully sidestepped many of the very smart people I know that work at Chorus.

Cheers - N

I wish people would stop talking about "modems". ARRGRGGGHHHH!!!!!! We aren't in 1999 any more! At least call them a 'gateway device' or something similar because admittedly Router/Wireless Access Point/ATA isn't that catchy.

It's definitely a modem for UFB, the UFF guy who scoped out my place for UFB told me that I'd get a modem from my ISP and I could connect my own router to it if I wanted to........... aarrgg.

One of them was parody sadly enough the other wasn't. Someonr earnestly wrote a script for the product manager to read. Where was the little voice in someones head going "seriously. Do we need to do this"
