Hi.

I'm seeing routing problems to a website / ip address depending on what ISP I'm testing from.

Theoretically the site is hosted by webhost.co.nz / umbrella. Geo Location shows Auckland:

 Country : New Zealand (NZ) Area Code : Unknown ISP : Umbrellar Limited City : Auckland Zip Code : 1150 Longitude : 174.766693 State : E7 Metro : Unknown Latitude : -36.866699

If I Ping / tracert from 2Degrees it gets there. Tracert from spark ADSL, Bigpipe and 2Talk looks like it is failing.

Originally my ISP said it was an issues with the host not having a correct global gateway config but as far as I am aware Umbrella is held in NZ.

If anyone could shed some light on it that would be helpful. Also any Trace Routes done and posted below would be appreciated. it might help debug whats happenin as i have a case open with Bigpipe but if it affects other ISPs it may need to go in a different direction.  Let me know the ISP, Connection Type and area you are in. TIA

E.g.

Bigpipe - Fibre - Papanui / Christchurch  - FAILED

C:\Users\itsupport>tracert romaonriccarton.co.nz

Tracing route to romaonriccarton.co.nz [112.109.68.174]

Looks like web hosting company end to me.

I can get to the site fine from some locations but not others in NZ and internationally.

The IP could be subject to DDoS mitigation as 112.109.68.173 and 112.109.68.175 seem to be reachable.

The pattern in the traceroutes in affected ISPs will be those who use paths which go via Vocus (hosting company upstream provider) as that is where the packets are getting dropped.

Has the site really been down for nearly 2 weeks? Seems like someone really couldn't be bothered and has just null routed the IP disconnecting it from the internet before going on holiday...

Command: show ip bgp 112.109.68.174

BGP routing table entry for 112.109.68.174/32

Paths: (1 available, best #1, table Default-IP-Routing-Table)

Not advertised to any peer

10.255.255.1 from 175.45.72.8 (172.20.230.78)

Origin incomplete, localpref 100, valid, internal, best

Turns out that Zeald had pulled an 'old' server nad done something that stopped it being visible from some ISPs.

Zeald are hosted by Webhost VDS who are in turn reselling Umbrella / Digiweb.

Thanks for the help with this.
