I'll probably ring Full Spectrum tomorrow (I sleep days work nights). They brought my scope (done) and install a month early by getting some tech's down from Rotarua to help clear the backlog of installs.

The scope went well. Simple trench to the house, straight through the wall etc...

Unfortunately I couldn't understand the Irish ladies accent on the phone when she left a message today saying they have to book a later install date now because several attempts to find something at the property didn't work. It sounded like she was saying lan, or han or something. Cell quality and the accent really didn't help to understand exactly what she was saying.

I know, I should, and will just ring tomorrow but I'm curious if it's some technical term she was trying to say I couldn't pick up on.

The Chorus tech spent hours after the scope digging the front grass up outside the property by the grey post at the end of the property. So I'm wondering if whatever they are sopose to join up out in the street isn't there, or isn't on a plan somewhere. The message said 'on the property' though so I dunno what she's talking about. I don't have fibre already installed so there should be nothing to not find yet and I'm doing my own work inside once the ONT was to be installed.

Anyone know a technical term that sounds similar to the word she was saying in Irish? If not I'll probably just call tomorrow to find what's up. They said they'll ring back with a new install date at a later date anyway.

All the other neighbour's installs these last few weeks have been straight forward. At the end of my driveway is where they tapped the fibre for my neighbour, but apparently mine's sopose to come from the other side of the property where he digged all over the place looking for something.

Cheers,

Gavin.

When they install fibre in the street, they will bury conduits down to every house on that street, and put a marker so that they can dig it up later. It looks like they couldn't find the conduit.

Yep this it what it was except the lady had a different name for it this time (another abbreviated word). They were going to re-book a new appointment and let me know when down the track because they couldn't find it after several attempts to locate it (started looking about 11am finished somewhere about 2pm). The front yard is only about 8 meters wide where it converges at the fence.

Armed with a screw driver and spade (so my install doesn't go back to a month down the track), it took about 10 minutes to locate it today so I rang them back and got them to keep my install appointment. YEY.
